Keswick Juniors line up for the start of their Winter Training Race at Blencathra

Keswick AC aim to provide opportunities for young runners in the area to learn about training and racing in the grand traditions of Lakeland running. The Club is in the centre of the finest natural scenery and training country to be found anywhere. Regular training and racing events are organised all year round open to all Junior Runners in the area. Junior Notices Training Programme 2008 Important: Due to weather and terrain we have decided that some of this season's training will be 9s & over only. The training sessions coloured blue below will include ages under 9. Fell or trail shoes, + waterproofs and a drink are essential. Summer Training Sessions Latest: Training will start again at the end of the school holidays, so watch this space. Meanwhile, there is a big event in Fitz Park in September with Junior Races. See below: Lakeland Trail Event - Fitz Park, Sat 6th September There are a number of Junior trail races (+ Senior Events) at the Derwentwater Trail Event at the first Saturday in September. Various age groups. This is a big event with lots of prizes, etc all based around a big marquee + supporting attractions in Fitz Park. For details follow this link. £3 if pre-entered, £4 on the day. U8, U10, U12, and a 5K event for two age groups: 12 to 16, & 16+. Contact Steve Strachan for any queries etc.
